Al-Khumus Carnival under the slogan “Life and Peace” is to kick off Wednesday on the city’s beach where many cultural, artistic, traditional, aquamarine and sport activities are going to take place.
The head of the media committee of the carnival, Makram Al-Yaseer, said the event is sponsored by the city’s municipality in conjunction with a number of private companies.
“Al-Khumus Carnival 2016 to commence at 10:30pm today with a display of fireworks.” Al-Yaseer added.
The event will go on until next Monday in Al-Khumus, which is located at some 120 km away from Tripoli. The city is a frequented touristic site in the northwestern part of Libya as it has the ancient city of Leptis Magna and clean beaches.
