Minister of Interior Emad Al-Trabelsi and Khaled Nouri of Tunisia have signed a security agreement to open the Ras Ajdir border crossing.

The signing ceremony took place during a meeting in Tripoli on Wednesday, attended by Prime Minister Dbeibah, Minister Al-Trabelsi, Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs Walid Al-Lafi, and the Tunisian delegation.

The agreement aims to facilitate the movement of citizens between the two countries by opening the four joint gates at the crossing and resolving name similarity issues. Additionally, it includes the establishment of six electronic registration centres for Libyan citizens' cars, the elimination of unauthorized fees and fines, the enforcement of border control, and ensuring the absence of armed presence.

As reported by the PM's media office, the meeting also addressed the facilitation of trade between Libya and Tunisia and the enhancement of bilateral relations.

The Tunisian Interior delegation arrived in Tripoli on Wednesday morning and was formally welcomed by Minister of Interior Al-Trabelsi at Mitiga Airport.
