The deputy head of the Presidential Council (PC), Abdullah Al-Lafi, said that the path to free and fair elections "begins with the success of the national reconciliation project," stressing the PC's determination to continue with the national reconciliation project and build a democratic state.
Al-Lafi's remarks came in a meeting with the chairman and members of the "Libya and Elections Gathering", at the headquarters of the PC in Tripoli.
Al-Lafi welcomed the gathering members, praising their efforts in supporting holding elections, and the national reconciliation project, which is the only way to ensure civil peace for Libya and its people.
The members presented to Al-Lafi their vision of conducting elections within a legal framework that guarantees the organization and success of the vote, in addition to their proposals that enhance the success of the national reconciliation project. They also hailed the success achieved by the preparatory forum for reconciliation organized by the PC last January.
