The mayor and members of the Misrata Municipal Council met with the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden, to discuss joint cooperation in various areas, primarily focusing on economic collaboration and facilitating meetings with the municipality's educational, financial, and industrial institutions.
The British Embassy in Libya stated that its ambassador visited Misrata University for the first time to see the new IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam centre, established through a partnership between the British Council and the university.
The embassy expressed pride in its partnerships with Misrata and the surrounding region through the British Council, highlighting that the IELTS exam is now available in Misrata, providing greater access and flexibility for local students wishing to study or work abroad.
It reaffirmed the UK's commitment to building and sustaining strong and lasting partnerships with cities across Libya to promote growth, peace, and development.
