Saddek Elkaber, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), held a meeting on Monday to follow up on the financial measures taken in response to the emergency conditions caused by the recent floods in eastern Libya.

Customers of banks in the flood-affected areas were forced to seek services from branches in neighbouring cities.

The session included the CBL Head Deputy, Maree Raheel and the directors of the bank's departments.

During the meeting, the Deputy Governor of the CBL praised the efforts to provide 800 million dinars to the banks in eastern Libya through the air bridge launched last week.

He provided an update on the work of the Crisis Committee, including the team's visit to the affected areas and the outcomes of their meeting in Benghazi.

They also reviewed the measures put in place to ensure the swift restoration of banking services and liquidity in the affected areas.
