The legal team at the Libyan embassy in Bulgaria reported that several court rulings have been issued supporting Libya’s right to retrieve “Badr” oil tanker and to lift the forced seizure, stressing their keenness to end the case as soon as possible.

This came during a meeting held Tuesday between the Libyan ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria, a delegation from the General Company for Maritime Transport, and a team from the law firm assigned to the case of the oil tanker.

During the meeting, the attendees agreed to continue coordination and cooperation between the Libyan embassy, the General Company for Maritime Transport and the legal team so that the company can lift the seizure imposed on the oil tanker and return it to Libya.

Meanwhile, the Bulgarian authorities seized the tanker in November 2017 for a lawsuit filed by a Bulgarian contracting company demanding financial dues from the Libyan state dating back to 1992.
