The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, received on Saturday afternoon, a number of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports and members of the Executive Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, participating in the inauguration of the celebration activities of Tripoli, Capital of Arab Youth 2024, in the presence of the Minister of Youth, Fathallah Al-Zani, the Minister of Sports, Abdel-Shafie Al-Juwaifi, and the Head of Preparatory Committee for the celebration, Al-Shibani Abdullah.

Libyan Prime Minister welcomed the guests, praising the Executive Council’s decision to choose Tripoli as the capital of Arab youth, stressing his support for all celebration activities, noting the necessity of directing Arab youth to support the Palestinian Cause, and focusing a number of activities on this first Arab issue.

On Friday evening, the events of Tripoli, Capital of Arab Youth 2024, were opened at Rixos in Tripoli, in the presence of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, the delegation of the League of Arab States, the Head of the High Council for Youth and Sports in the State of Palestine, and ministers of youth and sports in the participating Arab countries, the Head of the Arab Federation of Youth Hostel Associations, the Director General of Youth, Anwar Yahya, the Director General of the National Youth Observatory, Fouad Al-Ouni, and a number of diplomatic missions.

The opening ceremony included many speeches that expressed the solidarity and support of the Arab world with the Palestinian Cause. There were also various performances that embodied the cultural and civilizational diversity of the host country of Libya. It also included singing performances that embodied in their lyrics the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity with Palestinians and their just cause as well as rejection of the aggression against Gaza.

The ceremony of handing over the key to the Arab Youth Capital 2024 was also held, which was handed over by the League of Arab States to the Minister of Youth to officially launch the activities of the capital.

The “Capital of Arab Youth” program was launched in Manama in 2015, then moved to Morocco, Kuwait, Cairo, Tunisia, Baghdad, Beirut, and now Tripoli in 2024.
