The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El Sisi, has stressed his country’s support and respect for Libya’s sovereignty and unity, saying Cairo rejects all types of foreign interventions in Libya's domestic affairs.

El Sisi applauded in his meeting with the Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, in Cairo on Thursday the efforts of the Government of National Unity in improving people’s living conditions and expressed trust in Libyans’ ability to overcome challenges and build their country to achieve stability and peace.

He also hailed the issuance of the elections law by the House of Representatives (HoR) ahead of holding elections on time on December 24, stressing Cairo’s readiness to provide all necessary assistance to help Libya prepare for elections to respect the will of the Libyan people.

Dbeibah, on the other hand, said his government was looking forward to boosting bilateral relations with Egypt in all fields and supporting Egyptian investments in Libya to carry out projects t in the country, reiterating the importance of transferring Egyptian expertise in reconstruction and development to Libya.
