The President of the High Council of State (HCS), Khalid Al-Mishri, received on Sunday the Chinese Ambassador to Libya, Li Zhiguo, at the headquarters of the Council in Tripoli.

The meeting focused on the current crisis and ways to overcome the challenges to a comprehensive national consensus, in addition to issues of mutual interest between the two countries.

Al-Mishri said that the HCS is seeking with the concerned authorities to break the deadlock and move forward to the constitutional referendum stage and then on to the elections.

For his part, Ambassador Li Zhiguo stressed that the national interest should be given the priority in order to end the crisis in the country and move forward with the political process in cooperation with the international community.

He stressed the importance to combine efforts to end the crisis in Libya in order to return to formal cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially in the economic aspect.

He also indicated that the Chinese companies are waiting for the situation to improve to return as soon as possible.
