The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) announced that it had resolved the technical issue in the voter registration system for municipal council elections (60) for the number 17017.

The HNEC confirmed in a statement that service had returned to its previous work, announcing the resumption of registration. It indicated to those wishing to register that they could send a text message containing the national identity number and the electoral center number to the number 17017.

The HNEC revealed on Friday evening that a technical issue had occurred in the system resulting from a malfunction in the Civil Registry Authority system.

Registration for voting in municipal elections in the first phase at 60 municipalities is scheduled to end on June 23. The number of those registered to vote in the first phase of the municipal elections reached 55,237 on last Friday.
