The House of Representatives (HoR) invited on Saturday the Head of the Administrative Control Authority, the Head of the Audit Bureau, the two heads of boards of directors of the Central Bank of Libya and the National Oil Corporation, the legal representative of the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Minister of Planning and Finance in the government designated by HoR to attend a meeting scheduled for next Tuesday noon in the city of Sirte.
The meeting is for discussing the conclusions of the meeting held on Tuesday, May 31, at the parliament headquarters in Sirte, and what was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, according to a brief statement by the chairman of the relevant committee, Zayed Hadiya.
This last Tuesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives in Sirte sparked a great controversy after the Speaker spoke about entering Tripoli, saying that Tripoli is under the control of armed militias and that it can only be entered by fighting or by those militias’ consent, saying that the option of making Bashagha's government work from Sirte is better than the option of fighting.
Saleh also hinted at legal sanctions against the heads of the sovereign bodies who abstained from attending last Tuesday's meeting, and most of them will likely not attend next Tuesday's meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Fathi Bashagha, and his two deputies from the eastern region, Ali Al-Qatrani, and the western region, Khaled Al-Usta, the heads of the Audit Bureau and the Administrative Control Authority in the eastern region, the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Ali Al-Hibri, and representatives of the National Oil Corporation and the Anti-Corruption Authority.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, the Head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, the Head of the Administrative Control Authority, Suleiman Al-Shanti, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, were all absent from the meeting.
