The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, asked the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, to clarify the reasons for not implementing the decision to move the headquarters of the NOC to the city of Benghazi.
This came in an official letter addressed by Saleh to Bengdara, calling for him to provide him with details about the delay in implementing the decision, according to what was reported by the Libyan News Agency.
Saleh stressed the importance of adhering to what was approved by the Prime Minister regarding moving the headquarters of the corporation to Benghazi.
In June 2013, the former interim government headed by Ali Zeidan issued Decision No. 247 regarding moving the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation to Benghazi. The decision included moving the headquarters of the Libyan Airlines Company, the Libya Insurance Company, and the Internal Investment Company to Benghazi as well.
