House of Representatives Speaker, Aquila Saleh and Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Koury agreed on the necessity of unifying the executive authority and forming a unified government to move towards organizing presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, according to a statement by the media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
This came during a meeting held on Monday in the city of Quba, during which Aquila Saleh stressed the necessity of continuing cooperation and communication with the UN mission and the international community.
Aquila stressed; "the House of Representatives' commitment to the political agreement and the outcomes of the (6+6) Committee and everything that would end the political division."
The statement quoted Stephanie Koury as confirming her continuous and serious efforts to rebuild trust between the various parties by bringing viewpoints closer together.
