The Internal Security Agency has dismantled a criminal gang consisting of individuals from various African nationalities.

The group was found to be targeting members of its own community through kidnappings, physical and psychological torture, and unethical practices aimed at extorting victims for money.

According to the agency, the gang had rented a headquarters and deceptively raised the Nigerian flag to falsely claim diplomatic status, attempting to cover up its illegal activities and evade security prosecution.

The headquarters included a prison and a police force under the gang’s control. Members also appointed an individual acting as a judge to issue arbitrary rulings against detainees.

Additionally, they issued identification cards, suggesting an attempt to establish a parallel entity outside state authority, according to the agency’s statement.
