5+5

The Joint Military Committee (JMC) (5+5) has condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression and the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The committee convened in Tunisia on Thursday to provide an update on the steps it had taken following the Geneva Ceasefire Agreement regarding Libya.

The group urged political forces to take responsibility and find a resolution to the ongoing stalemate that is impacting the security situation.

It also called on all parties to adhere to the ceasefire and refrain from any actions that would jeopardize stability and security throughout the territory.

In a statement, the JMC recommended a reassessment of its work priorities, focusing on supporting the subcommittees that are responsible for sustaining the ceasefire.

It is noteworthy that the committee signed a ceasefire agreement in October 2020, paving the way for the political dialogue forum in Geneva and resulting in the formation of the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity.
