The commander of the military zone of the western region Major General Osama Juweili and accompanying military officers assured the UN envoy Abdoulaye Bathily in a meeting in Al-Aziziyah of their commitment to contribute positively in the unification of the military institutions, border security and disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of armed formations.

Bathily discussed with Juweili and accompanying military officers the current political and security situations and the need for Libyan leaders to respond to their people demands to end the current stalemate.

The military officers also expressed clear commitment to securing the electoral process to put the country back in the stability and prosperity track, according to Bathily's posts on X platform. 

Bathily's meeting with Juweili comes within the framework of a series of meetings held by the UN envoy with different Libyan political, security and social actors in order to mobilize support for the political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
