The Minister of Social Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Wafaa Al-Kilani, has discussed with the German company, Ottobock, which is specialized in prosthetics, joint cooperation on artificial limbs in Libya.
The discussions also covered issues such as preparing a memorandum of understanding between the ministry and the German company on joint cooperation to develop existing workshops, establish prosthetic limb installation centers in Libya, exchange experiences in this field, as well as training and technical support.
This is in line with the Ministry’s vision and desire to further develop existing centers in Libya, and to establish new centers with the latest tools and equipment.
The German company expressed its keen interest to provide the Ministry of Social Affairs with the required materials and equipment with the best specifications, while providing the necessary technical support and consultations to develop a strategic plan for prosthetic limb workshops.
The ministry’s delegation was headed by Minister Wafaa Al-Kilani, Director of National Center for Prosthetic Limbs, Sadiq Al-Haddad, and Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Ministry, Hafez Khalifa.
While, Ottobock was represented by Chairman of the Board, Regional Director, Tim Schafer, Vice-President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Dennis Walter, and Director of Regional Sales, Walid Lahham, according to a statement by the Ministry. The exclusive agent of Ottobock in Libya, was also represented by Fouad Al-Dergash, the company’s General Manager.
