The Libyan National Center of Meteorology expected regions of northwestern Libya to be affected Tuesday by an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere that supports the proliferation of clouds with scattered rainfalls from time to time, with good chances to be heavy Tuesday evening, especially in the areas extending from (east of Tripoli to Misrata - Tarhuna - Masalata - Bani Walid and its vicinity) accompanied by Thunderstorms, causing some valleys to flow and water to collect in low places.

The eastern regions of the country are expected to witness Tuesday a rise in temperatures and relatively active southern winds, causing thunderstorms in (the Gulf regions and the Benghazi Plain), and the winds will change tomorrow to a brisk northwesterly speed with a decline in temperatures.

 The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Tuesday, 16 April 2024 for the following regions of the country as follows:

1. The area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Good chances for rain this day in the areas of Ras Jadir to Sirte, the Al-Jafara Plain, and the Nufusa Mountain, and it will be good to heavy at times this evening, especially in the areas extending from (east of Tripoli to Misrata and their south - Masalata - Tarhuna - Bani Walid and its vicinity), accompanied by cells of thunderclouds causing some valleys to flow.
- Wind: Northwesterly to westerly, moderate to active, sometimes turning to northeasterly on Thursday,
- Maximum Temperatures: Ranges in most areas between (20-25°C) degrees Celsius.

 

2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition:        Tomorrow, clouds will increase over the areas of the Gulf and the Benghazi Plain until Amsaad, with a slight possibility of light rain, especially on the heights of the Green Mountain.
- Wind: Moderate southeasterly winds will be active today in the areas of the Benghazi Plain and the Gulf, causing dust and soil, turning to westerly and northerly tomorrow. 
- Maximum temperatures: Ranging between (28-32°C), and expected to decline starting tomorrow in most areas.

 

3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Some clouds 
- Wind: Winds will be easterly to southeasterly moderate speeds, turning tomorrow to moderate to brisk northwesterly winds, 
- Maximum temperatures: Ranging between (28-30 °C) degrees Celsius, and will drop tomorrow.

 

4.  The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear.
- Wind: Easterly to southeasterly, moderate speed., expected to turn tomorrow into northwesterly moderate to active in speed.
- Maximum temperatures: Ranging between (34-36 °C).
