The committee overseeing the evacuation of Libyan nationals from Ukraine has served notice that Wednesday will be the last date for the evacuation of Libyan citizens and their return to the homeland.

"The Libyan embassy in Ukraine absolves itself of responsibility for any consequences that may result from the desire of some citizens to remain inside Ukraine or neighbouring countries after this announcement," the committee said in a post on Facebook.

On February 25, the Embassy of Libya in Ukraine set the evacuation procedures, while the committee supervising the departure of Libyan nationals from Ukraine identified the assembly areas before starting the evacuation process.

Around 1,200 Libyan citizens had been evacuated from Ukraine during the past few days, according to the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
