The Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Muhammad Haddad, led a Libyan military delegation in the Turkish military exercises "EFES2024."

According to Libya's General Staff statement, the "Distinguished Observer Day" exercises took place on May 29 and 30, attended by the military attaché in Turkey, several Turkish military leaders, and numerous defence ministers and chiefs of staff from various countries.

Libya's participation came in response to an invitation from the Turkish Ministry of Defence and the General Staff. Haddad issued instructions to prepare a force from the Army and Navy Command, the Supply and Logistics Authority, and military units from several brigades and to develop a training plan involving infantry and special forces.

On the second day of the exercises, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended, witnessing land, sea, and air military displays from various participating countries.

On the sidelines of the exercises, Haddad met with his Turkish counterpart, General Metin Gürak. He also held a technical meeting with Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, focusing on supporting training programs, developing the Libyan army, and discussing military cooperation between the two countries.

The Turkish General Staff stated that the Libyan participation in the Turkish exercises had positive results, with the forces performing their tasks excellently.
