The Government of National Unity (GNU) issued a decision excluding citizens of Palestine from visa and residency fees, within the framework of supporting the resident community at a time when the occupied territories are witnessing a continuation of the genocidal war committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its appreciation to the GNU for exempting Palestinian citizens from the visa and residency fees, adding that the decision embodied the depth of the relations between the two countries and confirmed Libya’s position in support of the Palestinian people and their cause.
It also reaffirmed its gratitude and thanks to the Libyan state for its constant and continuous care for the children of the Palestinian community in Libya, according to the statement.
In October 2023, the GNU announced “granting members of the Palestinian community in Libya with special needs, widows, and divorced women the Libyan basic pension,” in addition to continuing to give the monthly scholarship to Palestinian students studying in Libyan universities and institutes.
