Participants at the Local Governance Forum have agreed to develop a strategic road map to support decentralization in Libya.

During the three-day forum held in Tunis, member of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohamed Ammari praised the efforts made to make the forum a success.

"The meeting was a space to exchange views and share visions among local and international experts and specialists", Ammari said.

For his part, the Minister of Local Government, Milad Taher, stressed at the forum the need to consolidate the principle of decentralization, promote spatial development, and to encourage investment and the private sector within the municipalities.

"Economic development projects at the local level will benefit citizens and municipalities," he said.
