The Head of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Menfi, reviewed with the Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, on Saturday Libya's political roadmap and ways to advance toward the elections in coordination with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
The meeting that gathered the two senior officials included the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Taiani, and the Italian Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi.
A statement by the PC head media office said the group discussed cooperation to combat illegal immigration and the possibility of activating the friendship agreement between Libya and Italy.
Meloni arrived at the head of a high-level delegation in Tripoli on Saturday morning, where she began her visit by meeting Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush.
She also oversaw the signing of an agreement on gas between Libya's oil corporation (NOC) and the Italian company Eni.
