Labor Ministry

The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation has announced the initiation of the legal regularization process for foreign workers in Libya.

The ministry issued a directive to all foreign workers who entered the country through official border crossings up until December 31, 2024, to register on the Wafid digital platform via its official website.

Additionally, the ministry required the establishment of formal employment contracts between workers and employers in accordance with the law, to be documented by the Employment Administration or its affiliated offices within the municipality where the worker and employer are based.

The call also stipulated the necessity of obtaining a health certificate issued by the National Center for Disease Control, confirming that the worker is free from diseases.

The ministry granted foreign workers and relevant employers a maximum of 60 days from the issuance of the call to comply with the legal regularization process. Legal measures will be enforced against those who fail to comply within the given timeframe.
