The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council (PC) Abdullah Al-Lafi concluded his visit to the Japanese capital Tokyo with the Minister of Oil and Gas Mohammed Oun and focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries, in addition to encouraging the return of economic activities and Japanese companies to Libya.

The Presidential Council said in a statement on Saturday that Al-Lafi, accompanied by House Member Ayman Saif Al-Nasser, concluded his visit by meeting with the Head of the African-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association, and a number of members of the Japanese House of Representatives.

Al-Lafi also met with the Head of the government agency “JICA”, which is the Japanese agency concerned with international cooperation and coordinating the efforts of the Japanese government to provide support in building peace in many countries around the world. 

The Acting Foreign Minister, Al-Taher Al-Baour, was also present, as the Japanese side reaffirmed its commitment to supporting peacebuilding efforts in Libya through the national reconciliation project.

The Libyan delegation also held a meeting with the head of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation of the Japanese government, who stressed providing technical and advisory support to Libya through the national reconciliation project, with the aim of achieving security and stability for the Libyan people.
