Dbeibah

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, inaugurated the Libyan Economic Forum on Tuesday in Tripoli.

The event, organized by the National Council for Economic and Social Development under the theme “Libya… A Promising Future”, was attended by several ministers, officials from financial and economic institutions, heads of public and private companies, and business leaders.

In his opening speech, the Prime Minister stated that the forum marks a pivotal moment in Libya’s path toward economic reform and presents an opportunity to reorganize and move toward a transparent and structured economy capable of tackling the country’s challenges.

He warned against the dangers of parallel spending outside official frameworks, emphasizing its direct impact on undermining state institutions’ stability, and weakening public financial oversight.

During the forum, PM Dbeibah approved the national strategies for economic reform and development.

He reaffirmed the government’s full commitment to implementing the forum’s outcomes and launching a unified national economic program under the supervision of state institutions, with active participation from the private sector and civil society to boost production, encourage investment, ensure financial stability, and safeguard public funds.
