The Presidential Council signed on Thursday, a decision to form a national committee that would determine aspects of public spending and prepare financial arrangements.

This step came as a culmination of consultations with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the United States Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, according to a Presidential Council statement.

According to the decision, the committee consists of a chairman and a deputy, in addition to 17 members. Its chairman is Mohamed Menfi, and his deputy is Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Farhat bin Qadara .

The committee also includes in its membership representatives of the House of Representatives, the High Council of State, the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli and Benghazi, the Audit Bureau and the Administrative Control Authority, in addition to representatives of Khalifa Haftar.
