The Director General of the Transportation Projects Implementation Agency, Sami Al-Abesh, confirmed the finishing of basic work at the terminal of Tripoli International Airport, adding that the steel structure of the airport would soon arrive via one of the ports within a maximum period of ten days, Hakomitna media platform said on Sunday. 

Al-Abesh indicated that the installation of the structure of the airport’s terminal would begin immediately upon its arrival in Tripoli, adding that the airport could be capable of receiving more than six million passengers a year.

He explained that the Tripoli Airport terminal would be on an area of 30,000 square meters, pointing to the completion of the Benina Airport terminal in Benghazi, on an area of 13,000 square meters.

Al-Abesh also pointed out that work is underway to complete another terminal at Misrata Airport with an area of 15,000 square meters as part of Libya's efforts to end the ban imposed on air traffic.
