The executive director of the national immunization campaign on polio, measles, rubella and mumps, Sadiq Bahilil, confirmed that 49,000 children have been vaccinated in just one day of the campaign within Tripoli.

Bahilil clarified that around one million and five hundred thousand children are targeted in this campaign throughout the country, praising the large majority of parents who turned up in the immunization centers to have their children vaccinated.

In a statement posted by the Information Department of the Health Ministry, Bahilil called upon all Libyans "to trust the supervisors and organizers of this campaign", making clear that the safety of the children is their responsibility.

He indicated that about 200 foreign children at the immigrants’ shelters were also vaccinated Tuesday, noting that the teams will head tomorrow for other shelters to vaccinate the other kids inside them.

The immunization campaign kicked off on October 28 and it will end on November 02.
