Libya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, has met with the Assistant Secretary-General and Special Adviser on internal displacement, Robert Piper, to discuss the progress made by Libya on internal displacement.

Piper highlighted that the global number of internally displaced persons has seen a significant increase recently, and the current tools employed are insufficient to address this challenge.

The UN official also commended the efforts of the Libyan government and national authorities in addressing the issue of displacement and praised the local reconciliations that have been achieved.
