The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday, the appointment of Abdelkarim Rkaybi as the new ambassador of Algeria to Libya, succeeding Suleiman Shanin, according to a statement issued by the ministry and reported by the official news agency.
"The government of Libya agreed to appoint Abdelkarim Rkaybi as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Algeria to the State of Libya”, the statement read.
Suleiman Shanin served as Algeria's ambassador to Libya during the period from December 9, 2021 until January 20, 2025.
