The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmajid Tebboune that Cairo and Algiers agree on the importance of strengthening cooperation on all regional issues of common interest, especially regarding the Libyan crisis, in order to achieve security and stability in the country and preserve its unity and national sovereignty.
Egyptian presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said that the two presidents stressed the need to push for holding presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible in Libya, in addition to preserving national Libyan institutions, and enhancing the role of security authorities in combating terrorism and extremist groups.
El Sisi and Tebboune also called for boosting international efforts in the direction of the exit of all foreign mercenaries and forces from Libya.
