The US State Department has launched a project to support all efforts in identifying missing persons and those bodies found in mass graves in Libya.

The state department said that the project is aimed at supporting cooperation between Libyan authorities and civil society representatives, in support of the families of the missing and dead.

It also aims to protect the rights of the families and the project will also contribute to supporting the Libyan authorities in addressing the matter of those individuals who remain missing, with the desire to enhance the involvement of the families of the missing in the search, but particularly in the identification process of those bodies already discovered in mass graves.
