The Arab Parliament welcomed on Tuesday the outcomes of the meeting hosted by the Arab League in Cairo.

 Under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the meeting grouped the head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, and the head of the High Council of State, Mohammed Takala. 

The primary objective of the meeting was to extend support towards the political settlement efforts for holding presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya.

In a statement, the Arab Parliament reiterated full support for efforts to achieve security and stability in Libya, fulfil the aspirations of its people, and preserve its unity and territorial integrity. It also emphasized the importance of the Libyan consensus on holding elections as a means to achieve these goals.
