The African Union (AU) Commissioner for Peace and Security, Smail Chergui, has confirmed the AU's support for the Libyans in implementing the ceasefire agreement signed in Geneva under the auspices of the United Nations.
“In my briefing to the African Union for Peace and Security Council (AUPSC), I reiterated the imperative for an intra-Libyan solution supported by a common collaborative international processus”, Ghergui stated in a tweet on Wednesday.
He also reaffirmed the AU’s commitment to support the Libyans promoting a national reconciliation among all parties to the conflict.
