The Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union, Ismail Sharqi, called on Wednesday the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) to focus on forming the executive authority and that nothing should distract them from the UN-led process.

Sharqi added, in an interview with the Algerian national radio, that the African Union is following up on what is happening in Geneva to reach a clear platform for choosing who will represent the Libyans in the next stage.

The African official stressed it is necessary at the present time for all parties to avoid engaging in parallel meetings, which might undermine confidence between the two sides.
