The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, called on Tuesday for the resumption of dialogue between the Chief of the General Staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad, and the acting commander of Haftar’s forces, Abdel Razek Al-Nadouri, stressing the need to unify the Libyan military and security institutions.

During a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Al-Haddad, in Tripoli, Bathily discussed the overall security situation and progress on the military and security track, according to the UN Support mission in Libya's Facebook page.

Bathily praised the efforts of the Chief of the General Staff to resolve differences, defuse tension and calm in order to achieve stability and peace, and also welcomed the steps aimed at unifying the military institution, according to the Chief of Staff Facebook page.
