The fourth workshop on combating crimes at and through the sea, including human trafficking and migrant smuggling, was concluded at the official headquarters of the center of the Attorney General’s Office, within the project: “Supporting Maritime Safety Management and Maritime Security in Libya; to Combat Organized Crime.”

Thirteen members of the criminal justice system - from the judiciary and law enforcement agencies - and two international experts participated in the workshop, according to a statement by the Attorney General’s Office.

The participants discussed issues related to the enforcement of maritime law and the law of the sea, effective handling of complex maritime challenges, planning an organizational structure to coordinate a rapid and integrated response during maritime operations, and developing standard operating procedures for these operations in accordance with international standards.
