The Parliament-designative government said its Prime Minister Osama Hamad gave orders for action following heavy rainfall and flooding in Al Bayda city in the Green Mountain region.
Hamad instructed relevant bodies to take necessary measures to protect and rescue stranded citizens and prevent escalation.
He further emphasized evacuating homes in the path of valleys that may experience heavy rainfall and called on public services bodies to stay on alert.
Al Bayda Security Directorate also announced evacuations in the Al Janin neighbourhood due to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.
