Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced on Wednesday a plan to enhance trade between Egypt and Libya by upgrading the Salloum border crossing.

During his visit to Marsa Matrouh Governorate, El-Sisi announced that a 250-300 acre logistical zone will be established adjacent to the crossing point to serve trade with Libya, according to the Al-Youm Al-Sabea news website.

He highlighted the four-year-long work at the crossing point and praised the "great development that has been achieved" in the region through the implementation of new projects.
