The head of the EU Border Mission in Libya (Eupam), Natalina Cea, said on Saturday, the EU stands ready to facilitate the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign fighters from Libya through a permanent platform for cooperation between the EU mission in Libya, Niger, Mali, and Mauritania.

The Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) presented a plan to withdraw mercenaries from Libya, starting with those from the Sahel countries Cea said during her participation in the Mediterranean Dialogues Forum, who disclosed that the committee requested the EU support to achieve this task, according to the Nova Italian news agency.

"We are working on regional coordination of missions like the ones in Libya, Mali, Niger, and Chad. We will try to do everything we can regarding disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration," the EU official added.
