The European Union Integrated Border Assistance Mission in Libya ( EUBAM) has signed a contract with the Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity to carry out maintenance and rehabilitation works on border facilities at the strategic Ras Ajdair border crossing and in the Al-Assa area.
The signing took place in the presence of the Head of Mission, Jan Vyčítal, and the Advisor to the Libyan Ministry of Interior, Abdulati Aljedek, in a sign of international commitment to support Libya’s stability and security.
This step comes as part of EUBAM’s broader mandate, which aims to support the Libyan authorities in border management and strengthening national security.
The project aims to improve the operational capabilities of the Libyan Border Guard at sensitive border crossing points, thus enhancing the efficiency of these facilities in addressing the growing security challenges facing Libya, such as illegal immigration and cross-border crime.
