The Tripoli Criminal Court has sentenced a former director of the accounts department at the main branch of the Bank of Commerce and Development to 11 years in prison, in addition to a fine of 22,038,229 dinars, after being convicted of embezzling 12.3 million dinars.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office clarified in a post on its Facebook page that the convicted liquidated checks received by the branch for public bodies, interests, and companies, and then transferred the financial amounts through an internal transfer system he managed using 30 bank accounts.
