The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of four individuals belonging to a network involved in migrant smuggling and human trafficking in Zalla.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, the four suspects deliberately tortured migrants to force their families to pay ransom, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals, as 164 migrants from Sudan, Somalia, and Eritrea were subjected to torture in detention facilities in Zalla.

The office further stated that the suspects coerced 71 migrants into paying $10,000 each in exchange for their release.
