Minister of the Armies of France, Florence Parley, has said that her country had refrained from handing over six boats to Libya to enhance the surveillance of its coasts due to the situation in the country.

The French ministry announced last February that it would provide Libya with six of 12-meter length speedboats produced by the French group Sillinger to curb migration.

France is a strong backer of warlord Khalifa Haftar whose armed groups have been launching a deadly war on Tripoli, the seat of UN-recognized Government of National Accord.
