French senator and President of the French-Libyan Friendship Association, Angela Preville, has criticized her country's slowdown in reopening the French Consulate in Libya, which negatively affected investment with Libyan companies wishing to benefit from the expertise of French companies in several fields.

Breville added that the absence of French embassy in Tripoli prompts Libyan businessmen to travel to Tunisia to obtain a work visa from the French embassy there, which causes great disruption as a result of waiting for up to two weeks, however, this made businessmen prefer Italy, which takes only two days to obtain a travel visa due to the presence of Italian embassy in Tripoli.

She called on her country to revive trade relations with Libya to avoid losing its share in the Libyan market since France owns major companies that can help rebuild Libya.
