The Chief of Staff of Haftar’s forces, Abdul Al-Raziq Al-Naduri, announced a curfew in Benghazi in his capacity as ‘Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Combating Coronavirus’ in eastern Libya.

Al-Naduri stated that the decision of the ban applies for a fortnight and covers individuals and commercial activities from 7am through until 7pm, with the decision described as ‘preserving public health for all society’.

The curfew excluded pharmacies and medical facilities.

The unilateral curfew was declared for Benghazi and it was taken independently and separately from the new National Unity Government, which did not issue any comment on the matter.
