The High Council of State (HCS) has called on neighboring tribes of Derna to intervene urgently to spare the city and its civilians from the scourge of war and to contribute to ending it as soon as possible.

In a statement issued on their Facebook page on Tuesday, the HCS called on the Presidential Council, the House of Representatives and the UN Mission in Libya to also intervene and stop the military mobilization of Dignity Operation, and to address the repercussions of the siege imposed on Derna.

It also called for allowing humanitarian aid to enter the city and to provide hospitals with medical supplies.
