The Italian Embassy in Libya has announced that it issued more than 15,000 visas in 2024 through its offices in Tripoli and Benghazi, marking a 35% increase from the previous year.
In a statement on its official X account, the embassy described the surge as a sign of deepening cooperation between the two nations.
The rise in visa issuance comes as Italian airlines resumed direct flights to Tripoli in January, ending a decade-long suspension and signaling renewed engagement between Libya and Italy.
