Japan has expressed its readiness to support Libya's reconstruction and infrastructure development through its companies.
During a meeting with Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the House of Representatives, on Monday, Japanese Ambassador Shimura Izuru conveyed Tokyo's interest in contributing to infrastructure projects and fostering industrial and commercial investments. Ambassador Izuru also announced plans to offer scholarships for Libyan students to study at Japanese universities.
The Japanese envoy held similar talks with Khalifa Haftar in a separate meeting, where the two discussed ongoing political developments in Libya, according to Haftar's media office.
